Triathlon is endurance sport that involves cycling, swimming and running over different distances. Early triathlons were held in California in 1974 and was organised by San Diego Track Club. First modern triathlon event was held in Hawaii that included 3.86 km of swim, 180.2 km of bike ride and 42.195 km run. It is also known as Ironman triathlon and is considered one of the most difficult and gruelling events in sports world.
The Florida Triathlon is held in Panama City Beach every November utilizing stunning beaches and it offers a great opportunity to all the athletes to showcase their talent. Triathlon is a game of endurance and your stamina, training and willingness will help you reach the finishing line.
Swimming in Florida triathlon is a mass start at the beach and the water temperature is maintained between 68-72 degrees. The course is loop swim spanning 2.4 miles and first loop is rectangular with athletes coming out of the water and making a turnaround on beach. When swimmers re-enter, they take a diagonal angle prior to reconnecting with original portion.
